The Medawar legacy began in 1920 by Chakib Medawar, a renowned watch-maker and master craftsman. The Medawar family relocated from overseas to the United States in the mid 70’s and began independent jewelry businesses on the West-Coast and Mid-West. In 1978, Pierre Medawar, a watch-maker and master jeweler opened his very first jewelry store in Lansing Michigan, with hopes of continuing the Medawar legacy of creating exquisite heirloom jewelry and impeccable customer service. Joined by Catrine Medawar and their two children, Christina and Jon-Pierre, Medawar Jewelers continues to grow while maintaining strong family values.   Medawar Jewelers’ Brighton location opened its doors in late 2014 and is operated by both Catrine and Jon-Pierre Medawar. The mother-son duo’s dream was to have a Medawar store dedicated to engagement rings and fashion jewelry while breaking the mold of what a traditional jewelry store should look like.
