In January, 1981, Tim and Karen opened their store in Harrisonville with no experience and barely enough capital to pay the rent, but they had a clear dream. Initially, the business focused on dealing in coins and precious metals then evolved to specialize in jewelry retailing. Today we still make daily markets buying and selling coins, gold and silver bullion. But our primary business is diamonds and jewelry. We have weathered many storms and evolved to our current level of expertise one day and one lesson at a time. During our tenure, the community has seen five different jewelers come and go from the business community. During the 2008 financial crisis, about 11,000 of America’s 33,000 jewelry stores closed their doors. Through fierce competitiveness, stubborn determination, and even surviving a brutal arson event at the store’s strip mall that severely smoke damaged the store during the critical December, 2016 season, we have continued to persevere, evolve and grow Golden Classics. Our survival illustrates our legitimacy and ability to serve you far better than most jewelers. We have accumulated a deep base of knowledge to help you. You deserve excellence and high integrity.
